Oakstone Capital — the team behind Arifund
Oakstone Capital (OAC) is the investment manager responsible for operating Arifund. We originate deals, structure transactions, manage the fund's SPVs, and maintain the relationships with institutional investors and DFIs that keep capital flowing into Africa's development.
Who we are
Oakstone Capital is an Africa-focused investment and advisory firm with offices in Jinja (Uganda), London (UK), and Minneapolis (USA). We manage Arifund under a formal Fund Management Agreement, with full responsibility for investment origination, structuring, execution, reporting, and capital mobilisation.
We are not a distant manager administering assets from overseas. We are on the ground in Jinja — developing the LAVITT site, progressing the gold mining SPVs, and building the institutional relationships that will bring $500 million of blended capital into Uganda and East Africa.
We don't just manage money. We build the projects that the money goes into.
What we do
- Originate and diligence opportunities across infrastructure, natural resources, digital services, and blended structures
- Structure transactions and SPVs so they meet DFI and institutional LP standards
- Supervise operating performance, governance cadence, and investor reporting across the platform
- Mobilise commercial, concessional, and guarantee capital into bankable projects
Track record
Since 2019, Oakstone Capital has originated, structured, or advised on over $200 million in investments across Africa — spanning private credit, venture capital, infrastructure, and natural resources. This track record forms the credibility foundation for Arifund's institutional fundraising.
Specific transaction examples will be added here when cleared for public disclosure (project name, country, instrument, amount, year).
Our approach
Most investment managers wait for bankable projects to arrive. We create them. This distinction matters in Africa, where the majority of the infrastructure gap is not a shortage of capital but a shortage of projects that are ready to receive it.
Our process moves from concept through feasibility, structuring, and financial close — with OAC's capital and relationships active at every stage. We take development risk where others will not, and we bring in institutional partners once the risk profile has been de-risked to their threshold.
- We are ESG-aligned at every SPV level — DFI-ready governance, impact reporting, and no exposure to activities on international exclusion lists.
- We are blended finance specialists — we understand how to combine grant capital, concessional loans, commercial equity, and guarantees into structures that work for all parties.
- We are on the ground — our primary office is in Jinja, not London or New York.
